Our Impact

Community safety is built through long‑term, community‑based strategies that prioritize trust, coordination, and shared accountability. As the city’s visibility grows nationally and globally, Kansas City is demonstrating what meaningful, sustainable community safety looks like: neighbors, local organizations, business leaders, and city resources working together reduce harm and support communities.

Since our founding, Kansas City has measurably improved its community safety, resulting in significant reductions in crime across the city. In 2025, our community recorded its lowest homicide rate in 8 years. This remarkable change is partially the result of collective community-based violence reduction actions powered by our KC 360 network and expansion of our Village Initiative. As laid out in our latest impact report, we are working to further strengthen our neighborhoods and violence prevention capacities as part of our five-year strategic plan.
