Intimate Partner Trafficking Training

Description: Human trafficking is a crime involving the exploitation of someone through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purposes of compelled labor or a commercial sex act. One of the most common relationship types that victims of trafficking have with their trafficker is that of an inmate partner relationship. This training provides: 

• An overview of definitions related to trafficking which are both legal and informal 

• Explains the Action, Means, Purpose model of trafficking which sheds light on how trafficking is conceptualized and prosecuted  

• Examines the myths and barriers victim-survivors of trafficking encounter 

• Provides best practice recommendations on how to work with and identify trafficking victims
