KC Common Good Board of Directors Announce the Departure of

CEO Klassie Alcine

Alcine has been a champion, and community leader of public safety and violence reduction since the inception of KC Common Good

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The board of directors of KC Common Good announce today that after eight years of leadership as chief executive officer (CEO), Klassie Alcine will depart from the organization at the end of June 2026. Alcine led the organization since it was founded and has been instrumental in creating an ecosystem of hundreds of community advocates working to make Kansas City safer. A search for a new CEO to lead the organization is underway.

“We are profoundly grateful for Klassie’s vision that has turned the organization into a thriving ecosystem of community and neighborhood leaders, organizations and businesses, all working towards a common goal of building safer communities collectively,” said Jeff Simon, chairman of the board of directors. “KC Common Good has been set up successfully for this transition, and our network of committed partners will continue to work together to build a safer Kansas City for all.”

KC Common Good was born out of an initiative to create a means of convening the many people and organizations that are doing the hard, street level work to reduce violence within Kansas City.

Founding Board Chair Terry Dunn championed a defining vision: Kansas City is united by shared responsibility. KC Common Good emerged as the connective force bringing together partners such as neighborhood leaders, youth organizations, clergy, violence interrupters, government agencies, educators, law enforcement, not for profits, the business community and others to create safer, more prosperous neighborhoods.

Alcine was instrumental in creating and growing KC 360, a network of individuals and organizations working together to reduce violence, adapted from Omaha’s Empowerment Network, Omaha 360. Since its inception in 2022, KC 360 has grown to include hundreds of organizations, businesses and dedicated individuals that work together to create and support community-based initiatives.

“This organization is ready for its next chapter. We have a new strategic plan in place and our priorities set,” said Alcine. “I am stepping aside not because the work is done, but because the foundation that has been built is so strong that it allows my hands to let go. I want to thank the board of directors for their trust and support as this organization grew from its founding to what it is today,” added Alcine.

Alcine will stay through the end of June to be a part of the transition to new leadership. For more information about volunteering or donating, KC Common Good.
