Lansing Correctional Facility
The Kansas Department of Corrections is creating a non-profit for fundraising and construction of a new career campus building within the Lansing Correctional Facility. KC Common Good assists the nonprofit with marketing, Department of Corrections’ organizational needs and best practices for reentry pathways to assist the more than 20 public/private partners on this project.
The Career Campus helps train these 300-plus future members of the workforce with stackable credentials in high-demand industries to successfully transition to life after incarceration, overall reducing recidivism and addressing the state’s workforce shortage. Hundreds of inmates can now obtain post-secondary education and skills-building.
The project is now moving to the $30 million fundraising phase to construct the building.
