Take Back the Block is a powerful, city-wide initiative focused on building safer, stronger neighborhoods—block by block. As part of a broader violence prevention strategy, this effort brings together residents, city services, and community organizations to improve public spaces, increase access to resources, and foster a sense of community pride and connection.
What Volunteers Can Expect:
-Hands-On Impact: Help address dozens of local infrastructure needs—like tree trimming, graffiti removal, parkway cleanups, and more.
-Community Connection: Work side-by-side with neighbors, city staff, and local organizations to bring positive energy and practical help to the block.
-Resource Sharing: Be part of a coordinated outreach effort involving over 28 city departments, 16+ community-based organizations, and 8+ community violence intervention groups—bringing services and information directly to the people.Join hundreds of residents already stepping up to reclaim public spaces, strengthen neighborhood ties, and make our city safer and more vibrant for everyone.
