Active Bystander Training, by the Center for Conflict Resolution

Magis Activity Center, 5311 Tracy, KCMO, on the campus of Rockhurst University (free parking in adjacent lot)
Maximum of Forty participants, $25/person fee.
The Center for Conflict Resolution developed the training for KC 360, the violence prevention initiative led by KC Common Good. The training focuses on de-escalation techniques, building trust, avoiding conflict, and understanding how to de-engage if conflict erupts.
The session will be led by:
  • Annette Lantz-Simmons, Executive Director of the Center for Conflict Resolution.  She holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Transformation and is a certified Strategies in Trauma Awareness and Resilience program trainer.  (Annette will present to our Club on Friday, November 3.)
  • Debbie Bayless, a mediator with CCR since 2004 and Mediation Coordinator since August 2009.  She has a Master’s degree in Restorative Justice.
  • Karen Slaughter has been with CCR since 2017 and manages the Neighborhood Accountability Board program.  She also provides mediation services.
  • Larry Wilkins is a gifted youth Conflict Resolution trainer and is CCR’s Public Outreach and Education Strategist.  He is active in KC 360.
