SUMMARY:Guns to Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Guns to Gardens 2025 \nOur goal this year is bold: we aim to collect and safely dismantle over 200 unwanted firearms from across the greater Kansas City area. This work is deeply meaningful\, but it also comes with real challenges. Right now\, our biggest hurdle is ensuring we have the financial resources needed to make this event a success. By far the largest expense is securing a large number of gift cards to offer as a token of appreciation to participants – a key incentive that ensures these firearms are permanently removed from circulation rather than sold or given away. \nGuns to Gardens will take place Saturday\, Oct. 25 from 9am – 1pm at \nCentral Presbyterian Church \n3501 Campbell Street Kansas City\, MO\, 64109.

SUMMARY:Mom Can We Talk Interactive Roundtable Talk
DESCRIPTION:My name is Stacy Williams\, and I’m the founder and facilitator of Mom Can We Talk\, a community-centered event series focused on healing\, understanding\, and building bridges between parents\, schools\, and young people. These open\, honest conversations have created safe spaces where families and communities can come together to support our youth in meaningful ways. Our kids are not mean & angry for no reason. We have to tap into the bigger issue.  \nIn addition to our community events\, I’m also offering Roundtable Talk discussions designed specifically for school-age students & now Adults. These in-school or after-school sessions address the social and emotional challenges our youth face daily—topics such as peer pressure\, trauma\, bullying\, identity\, and emotional well-being. The goal is to help students express themselves\, learn healthy ways to cope\, provide resources\, and connect with caring adults and mentors. \nBoth of these efforts are rooted in the belief that it takes a village—and I’d love for you to be a part of that village.
