SUMMARY:Marlborough Neighborhood Canvassing
DESCRIPTION:The Marlborough Community Coalition organizes 2 hours of canvassing\, three times a month in different parts of the Marlborough Community. The Marlborough Community Coalition serves nearly 10\,000 people living between Gregory and 89th Terr and Troost to the Blue River (just east of 71 Hwy. Representatives from churches\, resource agencies\, law enforcement\, local government\, and other neighborhoods are invited to participate! Canvassing for 2024 will conclude at the end of October. The flyer shows the dates and times through early October.  Please rsvp to info@wearemarlborough.org to learn the meet-up location for the canvass date you will participate. SUMMARY:Guns to Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Guns to Gardens is a national movement based on Isaiah 2:4\, “…Beat their swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks\,” which gives an opportunity for people to dispose of unwanted guns in a safe and anonymous way.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCentral will be hosting a Guns to Gardens Safe Surrender event on Saturday\, October 12 from 10am-2pm with assistance from community organizations. During this event\, people can anonymously surrender their unwanted guns\, which gets rid of unwanted firearms without putting them back onto the street. This is not a buy back. After surrendering\, guns will be dismantled on-site\, melted down\, and fashioned into garden tools (or jewelry\, artwork\, etc.). A gift card for a grocery store will be offered as a token of appreciation for each surrendered firearm.
